Class description: Exploring the concept of “sthira” (steadiness) and “sukha” (comfort) as explained by the sage Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras, and bringing that awareness to our exploration of the first of the 7 chakras. The chakras are described as “wheels” of energy within the body and which, when in alignment, create the optimum conditions for energy-flow. In this class we practice awakening Muladhara Cakra at the base of the spine, and characteristically associated with being grounded, or “rooted”.
