Welcome to the December Newsletter

Festive greetings to you all! In this issue of the newsletter you will find dates and details of upcoming classes in January, including a special New Year’s Practice to set our intentions for 2018 and the new class series starting in Penn. A huge thank you to you all for your unfailing energy, enthusiasm and good humour throughout our practices in 2017. I wish you all the very best for a warm and peaceful Christmas and look forward to seeing you on the mat in the New Year.

Om shanti.

New Year Practice in Penn: Setting Intentions Tuesday 9 January 2018 (7:30-8:45pm)

Join us for a fun practice to welcome in a bright 2018! Together we will enjoy a gentle flowing asana practice linking breath with movement. Tune into your inner wisdom to let go of anything you don’t want to carry with you into the New Year and set your sankalpa(an intention formed by the heart and mind) for a bright 2018. We will finish the session with a chakra-balancing relaxation, leaving you feeling centred and grounded ahead of the new year.
In lieu of our Christmas Practice, this class will be donation-based with all proceeds going to the wonderful charity “Mind”. If you’re considering inviting a yoga practice into your life but are not sure what to expect then this may be the perfect “taster” session to give it a go and see if you like it!

New Class Series for 2018

When: Tuesdays 7:30 - 8:45pm
Where: Tylers Green Village Hall (The Penn Room), Church Road, Penn, HP10 8LN.
The Sutra Series (16 Jan – 20 Feb)
The philosophy and practice of yoga has ancient roots. In the 2nd Century the sage Patanjali “systematised” the philosophy and practice of yoga into a series of statements, recognised today as the “yoga sutras”. In this series we will explore some of the key tenets of what Patanjali had to say in support of living well – physically, mentally and emotionally – and achieving our potential.
Myths of the Asana Series (6 Mar – 10 Apr)
Behind each asana is an ancient story about a god, sage, or sacred animal. In this series of classes we will explore some of the rich tapestry of myths behind yoga’s spiritual tradition to deepen our understanding and bring a little more colour to our practice.
