DID YOU KNOW...In the yoga tradition, the breath is said to carry a person's life force (known as prana). Ayama translates as "to extend or draw out" and sopranayama means “breath extension or control”. We take around half a billion breaths in our lifetime and what we may not realise is that our body, mind and breath are intrinsically linked and can influence one another. Learning to breathe mindfully is a fundamental part of any yoga practice and can be a valuable tool in helping to restore balance in the mind and body.
